Reflection

My lesson with Miss Pozo went well, considering we were the first ones to go! We met up a few times beforehand to talk about how we were going to teach and set up our methods for painting our sunsets as a class.

Our objectives were:

•         Students will be able to analyze and write a brief outline of the story.
•         Students will be able to identify new vocabulary words from the story.
•         Students will be able to create and share their own drawings on the story.
With regard to the objectives, I think that we were very successful. The most important thing we wanted the students to know was the concept of a story map, and while we had many distractions (Jose had a B O M B!!), we did a pretty good job! One thing to improve on would be to have the painting activity done a few students at a time or else someone will end up covered in paint...I don't want to have to explain to anyone's mom why their new shirt is blue.

Bulletin Board

Mr. Will and I had the project of creating a President's Day themed bulletin board for our class. We centered it around the idea that, as part of learning about the presidents, the class would fill out each hint one by one with us when it was our turn to present. It would have looked a little better had it been centered, but we'll remember that for next time
